Founding Mentor

Beyond the net.

Since the programme’s launch at Wimbledon in 2024, Christopher has served as one of a small group of founding mentors guiding professional tennis players through the most consequential transition of their careers — the one that begins when the matches end.

Each cohort pairs players with mentors for a season of one-on-one sessions, workshops, and applied learning.

The Programme

Preparing world-class athletes for what comes next

The Player Mentoring Programme — created by the ATP Tour in partnership with Give Learn, the learning and development company founded by former ATP doubles player James Cluskey — pairs professional tennis players with accomplished founders, investors, and executives. Over ten months, each player works one-on-one with a mentor to explore the areas of business that genuinely interest them, expand their professional network, and build a clear-eyed plan for life after the tour.

What began with fifteen ATP players at Wimbledon in 2024 has grown into a joint ATP and WTA initiative, with cohorts that have included Grand Slam champions, Olympic medalists, and former world No. 1s. The format is deliberately personal: monthly check-ins, in-person sessions at tournaments, and mentors who show up — court-side and boardroom-side — throughout the season.

For Christopher, the work sits at the intersection of everything he does as a founder, investor, and mentor: recognizing an inflection point in a talented person’s life and helping them see it not as an ending, but as the start of their next venture.

There’s so much happiness and joy after the sport. There’s so much optimism and positivity after. I think it’s really important for them to realise that — and I’m just so excited to be part of it.

Beyond Tennis

Mentoring beyond the tour

The same conviction behind the programme — that the end of one chapter is the raw material of the next — runs through Christopher’s work with founders, communities, and leaders.
